Micron — Clay, NY
Micron is investing up to $100 billion over the next 20-plus years to build as many as four semiconductor fabrication plants at this megasite, one of the largest private investments in U.S. history. The facility will produce advanced memory chips (DRAM), with construction now underway following the project’s 2026 groundbreaking.
SK Hynix — West Lafayette, IN
SK hynix broke ground on a $3.87 billion advanced packaging facility, its first manufacturing site in the U.S., producing next-generation high-bandwidth memory (HBM) used in AI computing. The company has identified Indiana as a key production base as it scales toward 2030.
Intel + Meta — New Albany, OH
Two separate large-scale projects are underway in the same corridor. Intel is investing roughly $28 billion to build leading-edge semiconductor fabs, including production of its upcoming 14A chip node. Nearby, Meta is separately expanding its New Albany data center campus into one of the highest-capacity AI data center sites in the world, a multi-billion dollar project of its own.
Samsung — Taylor, TX
Samsung is investing $17 billion to build an advanced logic semiconductor fab, its largest-ever U.S. investment, producing chips for mobile, 5G, high-performance computing, and AI applications. The 5-million-square-meter site is expected to directly create over 2,000 high-tech jobs.
